AC = Acetate
Acetate is a substance made from cellulose from coniferous trees and cotton lint residue, which is converted into plastic during a chemical process. The fibers of acetate are light, soft, smooth, firm and have a silky sheen. The material is supple, hardly shrinks or wrinkles and dries quickly. Furthermore, acetate allows air and sweat to pass through.
BO = Bamboo
Bamboo is a fabric that has many advantages. Bamboo is a very durable material, has a high wearing comfort and a beautiful appearance. It is a real asset to the clothing industry. The fibers are purified from natural bamboo through a special, sustainable, chemical process.
CO = Cotton
Cotton is a fabric that consists of the seed pods of the cotton plant. The plant fibers are rigid and hold each other well, which is why cotton is a fairly firm fabric. Cotton is made shiny and silky through a special process called 'mercerising'. Cotton clothing feels very pleasant to the skin, because it has the quality to absorb moisture easily but also to repel it.
CUP = Cupro
Cupro is a viscose fabric made of cellulose from coniferous trees, cotton lint residue and copper compound. The fabric falls smoothly, wrinkles little and has a silky shine with a luxurious look.
CV = Rayon
Rayon is a viscose fabric consisting of a synthetic fiber of natural material. Viscose consists mainly of cellulose, which comes from wood. The fabric feels soft, has a luxurious appearance and absorbs moisture well.
EA = Elasthan
Elasthan is a fabric consisting of elastic fibers. This fabric distinguishes itself from other synthetic materials by its very high elasticity and strength. Furthermore, the fabric absorbs little moisture and thus dries quickly.
F = Alcantara / Suede
Alcantara is a fabric with special properties and is similar to suede. It consists of a composition of polyester and polyurethane. The fabric feels fine and is strong with a long lifespan. In addition, the fabric is easy to clean.
G = Gabardine
Gabardine is a fabric made from wool. The fabric can also be a mixture of cotton, artificial fiber and wool or be fully synthetic. Gabardine fabric is waterproof, durable and wrinkle-resistant.
LI = Linen
Linen is a fabric made from natural, durable fibers. Linen has many properties in common with cotton, but is somewhat more rigid. Over time linen becomes softer and stronger. Just like cotton, linen is often used in summer clothing because of its cooling effect.
LU = Lurex
Lurex is a fabric made of metallised polyester and has a silvery sheen. The fabric is strong, retains its shape, does not crease easily, is resistant to sunlight and is easy to clean.
LY = Lycra
Lycra is a fabric consisting of an elastic fiber. The fabric is very popular for (sports) wear because it is lightweight and breathable. It is a sturdy and durable fabric that is antibacterial, anti-UV and moisture wicking.
MA = Modacrylic
Modacrylic is a fabric made from synthetic copolymer. The fabric is soft, strong, resilient and retains its shape. Modacryl can be easily dyed and is fast drying.
Md = Modal
Modal is a viscose fabric made of cellulose from beech wood. This organic textile is stronger than regular viscose and wrinkles less. The fabric has a beautiful sheen, feels incredibly soft and is very breathable. Modal is very comfortable to wear.
ME = Metal
Metal is a fabric consisting of metal fibers. The fabric can serve as an antistatic material in safety clothing, but it is also woven, braided and knitted into many fashionable fabrics and used as decoration. The fabric is also antibacterial.
NYL = Nylon
Nylon is a synthetic fabric. It is a very strong, shape-retaining and wrinkle-free fabric. It also has the property of drying quickly.
PA = Polyamide
Polyamide is a fabric consisting of synthetic fibers. Polyamide is a popular fabric in the clothing industry because it is strong, light and wrinkle-free. The fabric is also colourfast and does not retain moisture.
PAN = Acrylic
Acrylic is a fabric made of synthetic fibers. The fabric looks a lot like wool, but insulates heat better. Furthermore, the fabric is very colourfast, easily washable and anti-bacterial.
PC = Polyacrylic
Polyacrylic is a synthetic fabric that is very similar to wool. The fiber curls strongly, giving it a thicker and woolier appearance. The fiber of this fabric is resistant to wear and tear, soft, voluminous and heat-insulating.
PE = Polyethylene
Polyethylene is a very durable fabric due to the addition of additives during the production process. The fabric is strong, hardwearing and resistant to temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees Celsius.
PL = Polyester
Polyester is a fabric made of synthetic fiber. It has a more natural appearance than most synthetic fabrics. Polyester retains its shape and color, does not crease much and has good moisture transport.
PP = Polypropylene
Polypropylene is a fabric made of synthetic fibers. It is strong, very durable, colourfast, anti-bacterial, non-static and does not absorb moisture. This fabric is therefore more water-repellent than polyester. The fabric also retains less heat.
PU = Polyurethane
Polyurethane is a rubbery plastic. The fabric combines the properties of plastic with the elasticity of rubber. This elastic, water-repellent fabric is often used in sportswear.
PVC = PolyVinyl Chloride
PVC is a fabric that consists of a back of woven polyester fibers coated with a glossy plastic layer. PVC fabrics can be produced in very bright colors and are elastic.
RA = Ramee
Ramee is a sustainable fabric made of organic fiber. The fabric is made from a plant species. Ramee is very fine on the skin and feels luxurious. It has a natural shine, is resistant to bacteria and highly absorbent. The fabric is hardwearing and lasts up to 8 times longer than cotton.
SE = Silk
